we're going to climb a volcano! we're going to climb a volcano!

or at least that is what we thought this morning.

we took the train to herculaneum and got off and found the tourist thing that we had to find to get a ride to the top of mount vesuvious. and we did that fine, but on our ascent up to the top we stopped about a half hour into our trip up the volcano to find that we weren't able to continue due to a problem with the crater.

this was very disappointing seeing as in how we had been looking forward to this for a while.

so we went down, hoped back on the train to naples, and went to the really good pizza place where we had dinner last night and then went back to rome.
